Adult Under Officer Smith D. joined the Turks and Caicos Islands Cadet Corps (TCICC) in 2007 as a recruit in Alpha Company in Grand Turk. She was a member of the TCICCC for five years throughout secondary school. During her five years she was a faithful member of the cadet Band where she played the French Horn. She has repeatedly represented the Turks and Caicos Islands on numerous occasions as a Cadet.
In 2014, she graduated from the Turks and Caicos Islands community college with an Associates Degree in General Studies Science and went to university in the United Kingdom. Where she studied for four years at the University of Central Lancashire obtaining a First Class Bachelors Degree in Forensic Science and a Masters Degree in DNA Profiling.
During her tenure at university she became apart of the 4th Battalion Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment as an Army Reservist. She has completed both her Alpha and Bravo training as a RLC Army Reserve Class Three Chef.
She had returned home to the TCI shortly after fully completing her training and had rejoined the TCICC in January of 2018, where she had been reinstated as Mess and Hygiene Officer and Public Relations Officer of the Bravo Company in Providenciales. She had recently represented the TCI at the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force (JCCF) 75th Anniversary International Cadet Camp in 2019. Presently, while being a dedicated cadet officer to the Bravo Company, AUO Smith serves as a member of the opposition on the National Youth Parliament. Where she represented the TCI in 2019 at the 15th annual Regional Youth Parliament.
She currently works within the Ministry of Health as the Pathologist Assistant and Morgue Manager.
