"Ready aye Ready"
The newly established Marine Cadets Unit often called Sea Cadets is comprised of everyday young people who have an interest in seamanship, the military, or other seagoing careers. The programme is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork and self-discipline. TCICC’s Marine Unit aims to inspire young people to achieve success in life with a spirit of genuine service to the community while developing the qualities of a good citizen. Participants will be exposed to all the facets of maritime life and learn about the following:
- Boatwork
- Ropewok
- Seamanship
- Sailing

The Marine Cadets operates under the motto is “Ready Aye Ready”. The Marine cadet logo was adopted by the corps in 2019. The programme is administered by full-time members who serve in the TCICC as adult officer and NCO ranks, who are supported by a team of enthusiastic volunteers from a cross-section of the wider community. Training activities will offer the tools to acquire marine communication or engineering skills. Cadets will also learn about discipline, self-respect, teamwork and leadership skills in all classes.
